Wasda in partnership with WFP and ALDEF K have played a key role in food aid intervention in Wajir south and north districts since 2004, with current caseload of 99,400 beneficiaries for Wajir south and Wajir north following the recommendation of Kenya food security assessment report dated February 2012.

The organization undertook series of frequent droughts to save lives and livelihoods. The program has undergone various changes in terms of programmatic approach and target caseload based on the performance of the long rain and short rain seasons.
